Editorial policy and methodology

How we source profiles, verify records, compile lists and keep commercial content apart from editorial selection.

Sources

Records are built from public sources in this order of preference: company and government official sites, stock exchange and regulatory disclosures, official executive biographies, reputable news organisations, then press releases. Every profile shows its sources and the date it was last verified. We do not write biographies from unsourced text.

Record status

Unverified: a new record no editor has reviewed yet. Editorially verified: an editor checked the record against at least one public source. Verified by the profile holder: the person, or an authorised representative, confirmed identity and role by email and an editor reviewed the claim. Verification confirms identity and role; it says nothing about importance.

Corrections

Anyone can suggest an update from any profile. An editor checks the suggestion against the source before anything changes, and material changes are recorded in an internal audit log with the previous and new values.

Lists

Every list publishes its methodology, date and editor. Independent lists are compiled by editors without payment from those included. Partner lists, where a partner nominates the participants or sponsors publication, are labelled as such at the top of the list. We never describe a selection as independent when it was not.

Nominations

A nomination is not a selection. We do not tell anyone they were nominated, shortlisted, selected or ranked unless that event actually occurred in our editorial record.

Commercial content

Verified profiles, executive interviews, leadership features and corporate packages are paid products. They are labelled as partner content wherever they appear and have no influence on editorial selection for lists or news. Buying a package does not place anyone on a list.

Privacy

We publish public professional information only. Verification documents are never shown publicly. Anyone can ask for a review of their record at editorial@arabian.ceo.
