The Family Business Council Gulf (FBCG), the GCC chapter of FBN International, is now the Family Business Community (FBC). The organisation's website and its LinkedIn page now carry the new name and a new logo. The Arabic name, مجلس الشركات العائلية, stays, and the website remains at fbc-gulf.org.

The change comes in the week of the FBC Annual Summit in Abu Dhabi, which FBC announced on LinkedIn. Arabian.CEO was told the new identity was presented at the summit. FBC has not published an announcement of the rebrand, and the summit website is private, so we have not confirmed that independently.

The new mark is three linked rings in green and blue. The organisation describes its purpose in one line: FBC "unites and strengthens family businesses across the GCC through community, learning and collective impact". Its new tagline is "Ownership that matters".

What stays the same

Membership still connects Gulf business families with peers, learning on governance, succession and ownership, a dedicated space for the next generation, and the worldwide FBN network. The organisation keeps its code of honour: character, commitment, contribution and confidentiality.

Who leads FBC

Hind Suhail Bahwan, Founder and Chairperson of Hind Bahwan Group of Companies, chairs the board. The council named Hind Bahwan Chairman at its 11th Annual Summit in Doha in December 2024, with Hassan Jameel as Vice Chairman. They succeeded Omar K. Alghanim, who chaired the council for six years and remains on the board.

In the Chairman's message on the new site, Hind Bahwan writes that family businesses are "the backbone of our economies and societies".
